With the concept of collaboration in mind, the Northshore STEM Center’s “grand opening” will be celebrated with a month-long showcase of STEM opportunities being offered by multiple organizations throughout our region. Travel from location to location all month long in this event-hopping experience to explore multiple STEM opportunities available to you!
The STEM Crawl highlights the fact that quality STEM education resources and opportunities can be found throughout the Northshore region. Organizations participating in the STEM Crawl include local libraries, museums, industry and education partners, community groups, and more. WHAT: Join the Robotify Mars Challenge this summer and learn to code a robot the fun, easy way. Teams of 3 plus a coach learn and work together to program a drone to race for resources in Mars’ inhospitable climate against other competitors. Coaches can have multiple teams.
WHO: All Louisiana parents, teachers, youth-serving adults, and youth. EACH STUDENT ON THE WINNING TEAM WILL RECEIVE $1,000!

WHAT: While considered a traditional skill, sewing is frequently used in STEM fields. For example, without sewing, we wouldn’t have parachutes or space suits! Sewing promotes spatial reasoning skills as well as pattern recognition, all qualities crucial for STEM disciplines. Hone these skills and more at the FCC Annual Sewing Camp!

WHAT: The SLU Police Department is hosting its Public Safety Expo!
